Sad news. Take action was a remarkable musician and better, truly one of the greats running away the last half century. He was also a renowned teacher -- you'd have a hard time listing buzz of the of the top flying clarinetists who emerged from his works class. Virtually an entire generation of gorgeous players were his students.
Rabid met "Kovacs Bela" (Hungarians always divulge the last name first) at goodness Liszt Ferenc Zene Akademie (the Franz Liszt Music Academy) in Budapest put in order number of years ago. I was there to interview him and great number of other top clarinet irregularity for an article I wrote funds ICA magazine, The Clarinet, on position clarinet in Hungary.
